Instagram: Part III — Products you can create with Instagram Photos

Now THIS is the blog post I’ve been waiting for — now we get to find out all of the really cool products that are available for you to have your Instagram photos printed on. (Be sure to check out Part I and II of my Instagram series.)

Let’s start with the basics

Standard Prints

Postal Pix: Postal Pix is an iPhone app and all you have to do is download it and then print your photos directly from your iPhone. No need for a computer with this one! It probably goes without saying that you can print any iPhone pictures, and not just the ones you’ve run through Instagram. With both rectangular iPhone photos and the square Instagram photos, Postal Pix gives you different print size options. For square pix, you have a choice of 4×4, 5×5 or 8×8. Rectangular prints are 4×6, 5×7 and 8×10.

If you prefer to go through a web-based site for your printing, you can use any of the standard printing websites.

Books: A couple of book printing companies accommodate Instagram prints for their books: Keepsy and Blurb.

Fun Products

Almost all of these product websites will allow you to sign on to your Instagram stream. Signing on lets you choose which of your Instagram photos you want printed on their product. Very fast and very, very easy.

Canvas Prints: if you want something REALLY big and different, you can have your Instagram photos printed on canvas at CanvasPop.  Right now, they have an introductory price for Instagram users: $29.95 for a 12×12 or $59.95 for a 20×20. I have to admit, I was completely taken with their offer and the sample pictures and so have ordered a couple myself. I’ll let you know how it goes. If you decide to check them out, please feel free to use this link: CanvasPop and then click the Print Your Photos Directly from Instagram link.

Postagram: There are a couple of items that really stand out for the sheer coolness factor and this is one of them. Postagram is both an iPhone and Android app that lets you create postcards using pictures from your cellphone, Instagram, or Facebook account and they’ll send it wherever you like for only 99 cents. I’m picturing sitting on a beach in Hawaii, snapping some iPhone photos, then having Postagram create and ship it off before I finish my mai tai.
